Margo’s Got Money Troubles didn’t grab me until about page fifty. By the time I got to the last fifty pages, I was staying up past my bedtime and waking up early to read it.
The characters have depth. They make interesting, realistic choices, and they’re complicated. We’ve all been Margo, young and having to make big life decisions with insufficient life experience. She gets herself into pickles, but she’s scrappy and carries on.
The plot is believable and relatable. The novel had excellent pacing and tension. If you’re like me, you’ll be screaming in your head over some of Margo’s decisions.
Keep an eye on the POV, which changes from third to first person in revealing ways.
The book introduces aspects of society that my boomer peers and I don’t have experience with, yet we have judgment. Perhaps this book will expand your mind as mine did.
I highly recommend this novel!
