Where do writers get their ideas?

Hey book lovers, fellow writers, and other creatives. Sometimes I get asked, “Where do you get your ideas?”

For starters, I’ve been around awhile, so I have a lot of experience to draw from. Additionally, I pride myself on being observant as I go about my day. With those two factors as my foundation, I get my inspiration from three main sources. First, going on walks in my neighborhood, which you see in this video.

Second, I’m a swimmer. When I’m in the pool doing laps, ideas flow. And third, and maybe you have experience with this one, in the shower. I suspect our bodies relax when we shower, and thoughts just pour in.

You’re creative. Where do your ideas come from?

By the way, if you’re interested in my latest creation, check out my story, Willful Obsession: A Lake Waluga Cozy Mystery. You are promised an escape for three hours that will keep you guessing throughout.
