About

Larry and Kristy

The pandemic changed everything. It’s easy to forget what a scary time it was, but the possibility of dying led me to assess my life. I regretted not following my passion and getting an English degree when I started college in the 70s. And then I thought, why not do that now? And so I did. I enjoyed the classes, the professors, and the young students. But what was next?

So, I took a creative writing class even though a similar class outmatched me the first time years ago. This time, it was like I’d opened a spigot. Stories poured out of me, and they have since.

The best decision I ever made was marrying Larry in the 80s. I grew up in California, but we have lived in Oregon since the 90s. I’ve worked in corporate America and in government, and I had a home-based online business before it was a thing. I love bright colors, animals, and water views.

I’m a former synchronized swimmer, Jr. Lifeguard, and curler. Peak life experiences: getting married in England (followed by two solo trips there) and swimming across the Columbia River between Washington and Oregon. Lifelong passions: being vegetarian (since 1990) and learning Spanish.

My motto: reinvent! How else can we thrive in an ever-changing world?

The God of the Woods is complex, moving, and has a controversial ending that I loved.

As of lover of Pride & Prejudice, I didn’t expect to like this Eligible, but I loved this fun, romantic romp.

James deserves all the accolades it has received. I love a novel that makes me rethink, well, everything.
